⦁ To spread the access of education and empower the people of Sudan.
⦁ To improve the living conditions of the poor and marginalized in Alhaj Youssef by adopting strategies through community initiative and participation.
AcknowledgmentWhy is there a need? Alhaj Youssef is an area that has been overlooked by so many. There are 67,000 people where 80% do not have access education in this area of Sudan. Therefore they are unable to have access to good jobs and provide basic needs for their families.
History/Story: In recent years, there has been many at-risk kids that have not been enrolled in school for most of their lives due to economic depression and lack of resources.
What has that caused? Due to the many hardships that Alhaj Youssef has faced, future generations have been affected. Without an educational system, this area will never be able to grow to its full potential. The future of Alhaj Youssef needs to be taken seriously. CTA wants Alhaj Youssef to rise above.
3 Age Groups:
10-15 Years of age
CTA envisions a world where justice for all, equal rights and the respect for human dignity is the primordial ethic.
Our work would be on empowering victims and survivors of the Darfur genocide and other marginalized groups, throughout Sudan and in the Diaspora. It does this by providing them with access to tools that will enable them to combat violence, address massive human rights abuses in their societies, and work with others to prevent future atrocities while promoting global peace.
Build relationships between the state of Maine and Sudan to construct a school in Alhaj Youssef with the intent to build additional schools across Darfur Sudan.
What’s next? How are we going to continue?
*Build partnerships throughout the state of Maine to accomplish this vision.
*Community leadership in the fundraising and continuation of the efforts.
*Raise funds to purchase land and construct a new school in Alhaj Youssef.
